The movies on this page cover the portion of the Saint John river from the Mactaquac Dam down to Oak point and are broken into 3 sections. Each movie contains a flyby along both sides of the river channel. Arial photos of the area are draped over the land height data and portions of the land that were covered by the 1973 flood event of record are shown as a blue highlight on the imagery. In the movies, the land heights are shown vertically exaggerated by four times which makes it easier to see the shape of the land but does make it appear more rugged then it is in reality.
Please note that these movies are only provided as a visual aid to give an idea of what areas may be at potential flood risk and are limited in accuracy by the data available. They should not in any way be considered definitive.
This application has been developed to provide information related to actual and forecast water levels to better enable individuals to determine what preparations they need to take to protect themselves in advance of rising water levels.
